Have Footage? Fatal Stabbing Of 19-Year-Old In Westchester Still Unsolved, Police Seek Help

A police department in Westchester County is asking for help from any members of the public who may have information related to the fatal stabbing of a 19-year-old man.

The stabbing happened on Saturday, Feb. 11, when Mount Vernon resident Sergey Tonkovid was found lying on the ground in Mount Vernon in the area of North Columbus Avenue (Route 22) and East Lincoln Avenue around 4 p.m. 

Tonkovid later succumbed to a single stab wound in his chest at Montefiore Mount Vernon Hospital, according to the Mount Vernon Police Department. 

Now, the department is asking anyone who was in the area of North Columbus Ave and East Lincoln Ave on the day of the stabbing between 3:30 p.m. and 4:15 to contact them. 

Detectives are also searching for anyone who may have captured video in the area during that time frame, including footage from dashboard cameras in vehicles.
